5 France ( 2010-07-21 )
Amazing information for traveling to France. The condition of book was as described-actually better.

1 No Searching or Indexed pages = Nearly useless ( 2010-07-04 )
While the eBook has some great information, you can not search it using keywords. Even worse, while the index provides a detailed list of the topics, there are no corresponding "page number" that can be used to locate the indexed item in the eBook. I think this is a general limitation of Kindle Books. So to find a city in the eBook, you have to know the city's approximate location in France and then flip though the eBook until you come across it. Same for any tourist site. Which makes the eBook of use only if you want to read it from cover to cover, and along the way, bookmark the places you want to visit (bookmarks can be returned to). I'll be trying to return the eBook and buy the paper version.

4 I may not be headed for the Louvre but I do need other information. ( 2010-06-28 )
My work involves visiting the world's major shipwrecks. Whilst I may not be looking for those major attractions treasures which are found in the places I visit, I do have need of that local information which tells me where I can stay and eat. Consequently, I am just as likely to be seeking the same information in some out-of-the-way port as any visitor.

Over many years I have consulted a great many books which claim to be visitor guides. Because I have neither the time nor the patience for false, misleading, out-of-date or simply inaccurate information, most of those so-called guides have ended up in the bin. This is not so with the Lonely Planet country guides and this one is as good as they get.

In short; Thoroughly recommended. Just make certain you purchase the latest edition.

5 Great Purchase! ( 2010-06-08 )
This is a really great book. Condition was as described, and it arrived promptly.

5 Lonely Planet France a trustworthy travel companion. ( 2009-11-03 )
An Air Canada stewardess recommended the "Lonely Planet France" guide to me. She mentioned that all her stewardess colleagues used the Lonely Planet guides. I found the guide very useful in securing good accommodations throughout my travels. I walked down the west cost of France from Bayonne to Hendaye through to the Pyrenees, Collioure, Nice, Riviera, San Tropez, Lavondou, Toulouse, Avignon, Paris. The guide was terrific. Since then I have used their Austria and California guides and can highly recommend them. When I research my trip I always refer to the Lonely Planet.
